At Grafton Group we are looking for a Subcontracts Manager, to join Power China, an international solar projects development company, a dynamic and results-oriented team.
The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the relationships with the various subcontractors awarded by PowerChina Chile for its projects, from a general, strategic point of view, and aligned with the legal and corporate requirements of the company. The purpose of the position is, primarily, to protect the best interest of Powerchina against its subcontractors and ensure full compliance with current legislation, in addition to promoting full and timely compliance with all obligations arising for Powerchina from its main contracts (EPC, BOP-BOS) to its customers, in addition to ensuring full compliance with the agreements stipulated between the parties in each subcontract, establishing penalties in case of breaches of contract and irregularities, ensure Powerchina's indemnity in relation to the scope of each subcontract and give unrestricted application to the back-to-back principle in relation to the main contracts, review and approve payment statements, control financial aspects and provide advice in contractual terms to solve problems and situations not contemplated in the contracts, in order to contribute to the development of the projects under execution, ensuring the incorporation of corporate policies and contractual agreements.
Responsabilities:
1. Promote Powerchina's interests in relation to its subcontractors, ensure compliance with applicable Chilean legislation and enforce the relevant clauses of major contracts with subcontractors, ensuring the correct and timely application of the back-to-back principle.
2. Supervise the contractual relations with awarded subcontractors, ensuring that they comply with the obligations and responsibilities agreed in each subcontract.
3. Ensure that subcontractors comply with the terms and conditions established in their contracts, including deadlines and quality standards.
4. Establish sanctions and penalties in the event of irregularities or non-compliance by subcontractors, in accordance with the stipulations of the contracts.
5. Review and approve payment statements submitted by subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and correspondence with the work performed.
6. Oversee financial aspects of subcontracts, including budgets, costs, and invoicing.
7. Provide advice to the parties on contractual matters, helping to resolve problems and disputes that may arise during project development.
8. Maintain effective communication and positive relationships with subcontractors, acting as the primary point of contact.
9. Address and resolve situations not contemplated in the contracts and that require a joint solution between the parties.
10. Ensure that subcontracts comply with legal regulations and national requirements, as well as corporate policies and contractual agreements.
11. Develop any activity related to his/her area of expertise and/or department, which is instructed by the Project Manager.
We are looking for:
Degree in Law, Civil or Commercial Engineering, Business Administration, Civil Construction or related career.
Solid knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, as well as national legal regulations.
7 to 10 years of experience in subcontract management roles on large construction projects. Experience in renewable energy and energy storage projects desirable.
Advance level of english
A relevant certification in project management (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2) is highly recommended.
Additional certifications or training related to subcontractor management, construction management, or solar energy projects shall be considered a plus.
Based at project site: Calama
Corporate offices are located in Santiago (Las Condes), and the sites in or near Antofagasta.
If based in Santiago, must be available to work in Maria Elena once the work has started.
